Washington CeaseFire Campus Organizer

The increase firearm violence erupting on campuses nationwide makes it vital that the youth get involved in stopping this epidemic. Washington CeaseFire is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to reducing gun violence. Through research, education and community outreach and advocacy we hope to end the firearm violence epidemic.
WCF is looking for responsible, dedicated college students to fill the position of campus organizer. Campus organizers are essential for educating their peers about the prevalence of gun violence, and addressing safety issues at their school.
This internship is a year-long position, and takes place primarily on your campus. Responsibilities include:
1. Running a Washington CeaseFire group, and recruiting membership
2. Participating in two community/outreach events
3. Research your school’s procedure and plans in case of an incident
4. Work towards creating a safer campus environment
5. Hold at least one on-campus event
6. Follow legislation in our state legislature
7. Follow news stories
8. Serve as a voice on campus
