A Tukwila police dog that was stabbed Monday night by a suspected shoplifter who police later shot and wounded is going to survive, a Tukwila police spokesman said today.
"Gino is home and it appears he's going to make a full recovery," Tukwila police Officer Mike Murphy said.

A man accused of a string of North Seattle robberies this week — his alleged crime spree ending after he was shot by Seattle police Wednesday — has been released from the hospital and moved to the King County Jail.
The 36-year-old man, who is not being named because he has not been charged, was booked into the downtown Seattle jail for investigation of robbery at 5:17 p.m. on Thursday.

TOPPENISH, Wash. -- Two people were shot during a home-invasion robbery early Wednesday on South E Street.
The victims, a 52-year-old woman and a 19-year-old man, were listed in stable condition Wednesday morning at Yakima Regional Medical and Cardiac Center, the Toppenish Police Department said in a news release.
The release said the male victim was shot in the lower torso. The woman was shot twice, but the release did not indicate the location of her wounds.

MOUNTLAKE TERRACE -- The person police believe pistol-whipped and shot a Mountlake Terrace man Monday night was arrested Thursday after his family convinced him to surrender.
Three people were involved in the robbery and attack in a third-floor apartment Monday night, according to court records.
Two people, a Lynnwood woman, 19, and a Marysville girl, 17, were arrested Wednesday. They both were jailed.

A search for two homicide suspects shut down several blocks of a southeast Yakima neighborhood for more than four hours Wednesday as a SWAT team swept several homes and a garage.
One man was captured, although it was not immediately clear if he was a suspect in a Tuesday night shooting death outside Toppenish. A search continues for a second man seen fleeing.

Pierce County sheriff's investigators have found a gun in the area where two deputies shot a robbery suspect Wednesday in Parkland.
The gun was found Saturday about 10 feet from the path of a K-9 dog that had tracked down the wounded man, sheriff's detective Sgt. Jerry Bates said Monday.

Tacoma detectives are asking for the public's help finding the gunmen who shot two men, killing one of them, in a South End apartment last week.
Tacoma-Pierce County Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for any information that leads to an arrest and charges filed in the deadly shooting.
Witnesses heard two people enter an apartment in the Aladdin Camelot Apartments, in the 2100 block of South 90th Street, about 2:40 a.m. Sept. 3.
