No charges have been filed in the shooting of Sgt. Jay Alie of the Vancouver Police Department, but a police spokeswoman said Wednesday evidence is being processed.
Two suspects remain in custody in Portland on unrelated charges. Their names have not been released.
Alie was shot April 15 in the McLoughlin Heights neighborhood after he stopped a vehicle that matched the description of one allegedly carrying burglary suspects. Alie was shot in the chest, but was wearing a ballistic vest. He was hospitalized overnight but not seriously injured.
The suspects drove to Oregon, and two men were arrested after ditching the car in Southeast Portland and trying to run.
The suspects will have to be extradited to Clark County to face charges connected to the burglary and shooting.
