Tacoma police were investigating a shooting that injured two people at the Oakland Playground early Tuesday.

According to police, a large fight broke out at the park at 4016 S. 31st St. about 2:20 a.m. Shots were fired and then everyone left, said police spokesman Mark Fulghum. Neighbors near the park heard the gunfire and called police, who found no one around.

Later, two men came to local hospitals for treatment for gunshot wounds. Their injuries were not considered life threatening, police reported.

A 22-year-old man was dropped off at St. Joseph Medical Center after being shot in the arm, police said. He said he didn't know the answers to many of the officers' questions, Fulghum said.

A 26-year-old man went to Allenmore Hospital after being shot in the shoulder. He told officers he was standing on a street during a confrontation when he felt a sudden pain in his shoulder. He said people took him to Allenmore but declined to identify them, Fulghum said.

The man later was taken by ambulance to St. Joseph's for treatment.

No arrests were reported.
