Police arrested a 43-year-old man shortly after noon Saturday in connection with the shooting of his girlfriend at a Tacoma home in the early morning hours.

The woman, whose age was not immediately available, was shot in the leg, Tacoma police said.

Her injuries were not believed to be life-threatening, said officer William Budinich.

The shooting in the 5500 block of South Stevens Street was reported shortly before 4 a.m.

The boyfriend was arrested in Kent several hours later and was to be booked into Pierce County Jail on suspicion of aggravated assault, Budinich said.
