NORTH KITSAP
A 22-year-old woman was shot in the arm early Friday following an altercation at a Lofall-area home, according to Kitsap County Sheriff's Office reports.
Deputies were called to the 90 block of Wesley Way just after midnight for a report that someone had been shot. They found a bloody pack of cigarettes and a bullet near a shed, where a 26-year-old man lives.
The 26-year-old told deputies that three people had shown up at his shed looking for drugs. He said one of the men grabbed a bottle and held it in a way that threatened him, so he retrieved a gun.
He claimed that he fired a "warning shot" in the ground, but he was accused by the trio of shooting the 22-year-old, reports said.
At the hospital, a 37-year-old who said he was with the group claimed that the 26-year-old had kicked them out for being too loud before firing the shot.
As hospital staff attended to the 22-year-old, she told deputies that they had in fact left the 26-year-old's home, but then returned because they felt "disrespected," reports said.
The other member of the trio, a 44-year-old, said that when they were at the 26-year-old's shed, the man pulled the gun on him.
"What, you gonna shoot me because I came to your house?" the 44-year-old said he quipped, according to reports. The 22-year-old told deputies she saw the bullet fly under the armpit of the 44-year-old and she was unable to get out of the way.
The 26-year-old was taken to the Kitsap County jail on suspicion of second-degree assault, with bail set at $33,000.
