 A bullet went through a window and a wall in a dormitory at Pacific Lutheran University on Wednesday night shortly before 8:30pm.   

There were no injuries, no one was home at the time.  Police are still investigating the shooting.

Gang Unit detectives responded to a drive-by shooting Monday night near 46th Avenue South and South Chicago Street.

About 6 p.m., a witness reported seeing a Ford Explorer with two men speed past the corner and fire four or five shots from a handgun into the air.

Officers arrested the suspects nearby and they were identified. Police said the handgun recovered from the SUV was stolen.

An elementary school near Prosser was briefly locked down Tuesday morning after officials learned a student had brought a gun to school, authorities said.

A 5-year-old special needs kindergartner at Whitstran Elementary had an unloaded .22-caliber handgun in his backpack, said Benton County sheriff's Lt. Joe Lusignan.

A former Battle Ground High School student pleaded not guilty Friday to charges he brought a stolen, loaded pistol to school.

Samuel A. McMullen, who was arrested May 12 and has since been expelled, remains in custody at the Clark County Juvenile Justice Center.

Trial was set for June 10 in Clark County Juvenile Court, said Senior Deputy Prosecutor Rick Olson.

Olson said hes not going to seek to have McMullen, 17, remanded to adult court.

A robbery suspect was shot dead by an armed civilian late Monday, the first incident of justifiable homicide city police said they could recall in recent memory.

Franklin McWain, 33, died at a hospital from multiple gunshot wounds to the chest. An autopsy was performed Tuesday.

A police news release said the shooting occurred in the 800 block of North Second Street about 11 p.m. Monday.

Sheriff's deputies arrested a Renton man after he shot a gun during a fight at the Skyway Park Bowl and Casino, the King County Sheriff's Office reported Friday.

Several men were fighting late Thursday at the bowling alley at 11819 Renton Ave. S. when the suspect, 20, displayed the gun, sheriff's Sgt. John Urquhart said.

The crowd ran outside, where the suspect followed and fired a round.

A 40-year-old Federal Way man died early Saturday after he was shot several times during an apparent domestic dispute.

Police were still investigating the shooting, but it appears to have been in self-defense, according to a news release.

The man's estranged 24-year-old wife called officers to the Mariposa Apartments at 28120 18th Ave. S. shortly before 4 a.m., saying she'd shot him, according to the news release.

Pierce County sheriff's deputies have arrested three teenage boys suspected of having two loaded handguns Tuesday at Bethel Junior High School.

No one was injured by the guns and investigators do not believe the boys - two 14-year-olds and a 15-year-old - had a "sinister plot," sheriff's spokesman Ed Troyer said Thursday.

QUINCY - A 23-year-old Quincy man is in critical condition after he was shot in the stomach Saturday morning.

The male was reportedly struck with bird shot discharged from a 12 gauge shotgun, Grant County Undersheriff John Turley said Tuesday.

The victim was reportedly at a party in a home on Third Avenue in Quincy.

A man taking target practice at a University District fraternity house alarmed neighbors late Sunday, prompting calls to police.

Within minutes, Seattle police had surrounded the four-story building in the 4500 block of 17th Avenue Northeast and arrested a 21-year-old man with a gun.

The incident happened about 11:30 p.m., spokesman Jeff Kappel said.

ARLINGTON -- A SWAT team was called Wednesday evening to negotiate a peaceful resolution after a man began shooting and barricaded himself in his home.

Police received several complaints of a man firing shots starting at 2:45 p.m. in the area of McRae Road, Snohomish County Sheriff's Lt. Jeff Brand said.

Police converged on the home and the man surrendered around 6 p.m.

No injuries were reported.

Auburn Boy, 15, wounded in parking lot

A 15-year-old boy was shot in the chest in an Auburn parking lot Wednesday night, police said.

The shooting happened near the intersection of 41st Street Southeast and A Street Southeast in the parking lot of Columbia Bank, said Auburn Police Department spokesman Scott Near.

At about 11 p.m., officers found the boy by some railroad tracks, Near said. The boy was conscious and taken to Harborview Medical Center. His condition was not available.

A Lynden man was arrested Friday, Aug. 15, after arguing with his girlfriend and allegedly shooting at her car with a 12-gauge shotgun on the 400 block of River Road. Whatcom County Sheriff's deputies arrested Cameron Flavin, 21, on suspicion of first-degree assault, felony harassment, second-degree malicious mischief and second-degree unlawful possession of a firearm.

He was booked into Whatcom County Jail, where he remained Saturday afternoon.

A 34-year-old man shot and killed by four bail bond agents Thursday in Lakewood was no stranger to his hunters.

Seven weeks ago, he robbed the Tacoma bond company that hired the agents, confessed to the crime in front of the company owner and Tacoma police, and walked away without a legal scratch, according to documents filed in Pierce County Superior Court.
