SNOHOMISH — Police on Friday said they believe a felon with a history of drug convictions was responsible for shooting a man in the groin early Wednesday near Snohomish.
Robert James Scott, 36, used a .44-caliber revolver to settle a score over an unpaid drug debt and possession of some high-end tire rims, Snohomish County sheriff’s spokeswoman Rebecca Hover said.

Seattle police said the two were drinking alcohol in a garage at the teen's residence on the 8000 block of 28th Avenue NW a little after midnight when, for reasons unknown at this point, the boy brought out a .25 caliber semi-automatic pistol. He then shot his friend in the leg.

YAKIMA, Wash. -- The second of three suspects identified in a Grandview gun battle was charged this week in Yakima County Superior Court.
Santiago Barrera Brito, 17, is accused of first-degree assault and second-degree illegal firearm possession.
Earlier this month, 27-year-old Pasco resident Juan Zepeda was charged with second-degree assault. Detectives said Thursday they are awaiting a warrant against the third known suspect, Victor Flores Garcia.

GRANDVIEW -- Investigators are still sorting out details of a weekend car chase and shooting, but so far they don't think it was gang-related.
The gunshots Saturday night may have stemmed from an old high school grudge between Grandview teenagers, said Stew Graham, chief of detectives for the Yakima County Sheriff's Office.

A woman who police say shot a man on a downtown Seattle sidewalk Saturday after an argument on a Metro bus was released from jail Monday afternoon while prosecutors continue to mull over any charges in the case.

A 19-year-old Warden man was shot to death at an Othello park, authorities said Thursday.
Ismael Garcia Jr. was shot twice during a fight between two small groups at Taggares Park, 608 S. Taylor Road, Adams County Sheriff Doug Barger said in a news release.
The shooting was reported at 6:21 p.m. Wednesday. Garcia was pronounced dead at Othello Community Hospital. He was taken there by his friends.

The shooting occurred about 10:45 p.m. in the 5700 block of 209th Street East, sheriff's spokesman Ed Troyer said Thursday.

Two men were wounded Tuesday in a shooting outside a SeaTac apartment building, the King County Sheriff's Office reported.
Police arrested a 17-year-old boy who ran from the parking lot after the 12:30 p.m. shooting. Officers caught him and booked him into jail on a warrant for being a felon in possession of a firearm, but he was not arrested on suspicion of the shooting, sheriff's Sgt. John Urquhart said.

Man kills self after shooting girlfriend

GRANGER -- A man shot his girlfriend at a Granger tavern, then turned the gun on himself at his home two blocks away in the early hours of Valentine's Day, police said Saturday.
Witnesses at the Circle Inn told police that Salvador Ramirez shot Eliva Antunez Roman in the head, then left the tavern.
She was 49. He was 64. Both lived in Granger.

EVERETT -- Police believe a man intentionally shot himself Sunday morning inside an Everett gun range.
The man, 45, rented a gun at Sam's Gun Shop and Range and entered one of the bays. He fired the gun a few times and then turned the gun on himself, Snohomish County sheriff's spokeswoman Rebecca Hover said.

SEKIU -- A Clallam County sheriff's deputy who was shot twice by an apparent squatter in a beachfront cabin Monday went home to Forks on Tuesday.
The man he shot -- a military veteran with a Bronze Star, according to his resume -- remained in critical condition and under guard in a Seattle hospital.
